The Great Saltee Island in Ireland, Oil Painting on Canvas, Merel van Eck 2022.

I went on a summer holiday in Ireland this year and explored the area of Dublin, Wicklow Mountains National Park and Wexford. In Wexford we discovered that we could take the Saltee ferry to the Great Saltee Island, part of the Saltee islands. It's a true paradise for puffins, seagulls and other seabirds and absolutely the most amazing experience of my life! For 4 hours we were allowed to stay on this uninhabited island to watch the lovely seabirds. This is such an amazing memory for me, that I had to paint the island!
